marriage and the law.
we are told that in the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God. we are then told that the Word was become flesh and dwelt among us. the Word personified as Jesus Christ, the risen Son of God.can we say then that Jesus Christ is the Word, once removed?
we are told that Jesus Christ is the fulfillment of the law.
can we say that the law is the Word, then...twice removed?
God first wrote His law on stone tablets and sent them to the idol worshipers below.
then He wrote His law on the heart of moses who interpreted It for God's chosen people.
ah hah! they began to get it.
then He handed Jesus the utensil and has Him write the law on our hearts as He Himself had done for moses. and He does. for each who holds out his heart to Jesus the law will be written upon it.
and so the law, twice removed, is in us all, Christ is in all, Christ is all.
and so how does God interact with His expanded people, those who have held out their hearts for Jesus to write His law upon? can we take Jesus' analogy to heart? does God relate to His people as the husband of the body? if Jesus is the bridegroom, as He describes Himself, and the chruch is the bride

the Law
i have been involved in an ongoing discussion"the law can make us aware of our sin but it cannot justify sin. God gave us the laws that we might know and recognize our sinful natures; not in any manner of reconciliation. our sin is resolved only by grace, the grace of the One, by Jesus Christ- the reconciling word of God."
the debate is this: in the previous context can the word "word" in "the reconciling word of God" be exchanged for "law", as in "the reconciling law of God.
we know that the Word was with God and the Word was God from the very beginning...so what is the relationship between the word and the law? is not the law, as given by God to moses, not His Word? what is the purpose of the Word if not to convey the Law? is the law but a conveyer of the Word or is the Law actually the Word itself? we say that Jesus Christ is the fulfillment of the law, and we also say He is the living Word. we are told that the Word became flesh and dwelt among us as the person of Jesus Christ. can we not say that God is The Law...the One Law, the Law governing everything?
it has become common among christians to have disdain for the old laws. Jesus himself seemed to lean that way at times. we lgtb types have a particular disdain for the old laws as they seem to point directly at us, at our illigitimacy as children of God. i confess, i have actually laughed at some of the old laws and i have boldly held myself above them. i can do this because i am gentile and i am christian. i can say, as paul says, that the old laws were given to moses for the jewish people and were never intended for gentiles in the first place. then i can say that whatever the old laws are they have been fulfilled by the life, ministry, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. i can even say, and be sure, that the old laws are not even effective in the context of today's world...that some of them just simply
